Paul Schmitt and anonymous were delivering papers when the encountered the creature on a dirt road through a forested area connecting with St. John's River Wildlife Management Area. It was standing in the middle of the road and they stopped close to it. It then approached them, but how the incident ended is not reported. Smell was "sickening", "like cabbage", "overwhelming." "Middle part of the creature was closely observed in the headlights and confirmed not to be a bear or any other known animal."
