Beside the woodshed behind her house (East bank of Nooksack River across from Lummi Indian Reserve) Martha Washington found 18-inch tracks, fairly shapeless, very deep in soft muddy patches left after heavy rains. Tracks were not continuous as some areas were still hard, others were under running water. The tracks were headed toward the bush behind the house, and the maker had apparently ducked under a clothesline 5 feet high. Indian Reserve)
