LA 1994 TR100 * This is from the Alexandria Daily Town Talk in Louisiana: This is very near where my wife and I had a sighting in May of 1994. We were driving back from New Orleans to Dallas. It was around midnight and was very dark out with no moon. We were going about 75 mph down a desolate two- lane unlit highway, when off to the right in the area where the road dropped down into the swamp area we saw something. It was upright, walking on two legs and facing in the direction we were traveling. It was very tall, dark and hairy. We both looked at each other and said. “Did you just see what I saw?" I wanted to turn around and go back, but she wanted nothing to do with that as we were in my Isuzu Amigo, with the soft top rolled up. So we continued on to Dallas. I should have turned around.

LA ASCENSION 1978 TR#88 * Late summer, 1978, McElory Swamp, Louisiana, in Ascension Parish. Witness was 8 years old when brother and two cousins were camping in a floating camp accessible by boat. At midnight, after gigging frogs, my cousin blew an old bullhorn (used to call hunting dogs) to get screech owl to answer. It was 1 AM and the answer was a scream that can’t be described. It was not a panther. Rumors had been going around about “something” being seen back in the swamp. Didn’t at the time associate it with Bigfoot. Two weeks later a motorist reported a large, erect, creature crossing interstate 10, about two miles away from site. 7-8 cars had seen the creature at the same time. The area is today , miles and miles of unbroken swampland. with small bayous and sloughs.

David Eschenfelder and J. Frank McAneny *** But the best account came from a Shreveport oilfield worker. He said he saw a black hairy creature standing in the brush watching him intently as he was doing maintenance work on some wells in the area. He took his rifle from the gunrack to fire. As he started to squeeze the trigger, he noticed the creature was standing upright on two legs. He feared it may be human, so he did not fire. The creature looked at him a few moments with piercing red eyes and disappeared into the woods. This was less than three miles from the site of all the other encounters. Then I was told young lovers necking at night in the area had been scared by a hairy ape-like creature for the last fifteen years. A few weeks later, I was warned to lay off the story before I stirred up too much trouble. I was informed that a man living in the area had complete knowledge of the creature’s existence - that he knew a whole family of monsters ranging from babies to adults living there. He felt any publicity would hamper his attempts to get a government agency to investigate. After my original story appeared on television, I received numerous reports of monster sightings. I screened the reports but discounted most as illusions or results of vivid imaginations.

David Eschenfelder and J. Frank McAneny Just last month we may have encountered the hairy man again three miles farther south. A LA DE SOTO 2000 330FT TR100 320215N 0934200W companion and I were searching the woods below Mansfield. Once again some thing tracked us in the woods, remaining just out of sight. I had just left the logging trail when my companion ran from the woods yelling, “Did you hear that bellowing scream?” he still will not go into the area without a weapon. I can’t help but think the high frequency sound of the metal locator may attract or hurt the creatures ears. Also, logging had been in full swing in both areas at the time, destroying the creature’s habitat.
