Sighting Text:
* mwengler@ldd.net ( mark wengler) It took place in Bollinger County, Mo, near a town called Patton. This happened in the summer of 1976. We were living on my Uncle's second farm that was right next to his. All a person had to do was walk across two fields to get from one house to another. I was coming from my Uncle's house to our house when I saw a set of large foot prints going into the woods. Being raised on a farm and knowing what animal's make which prints. Those prints looked like a set of very large human prints so I just followed them into the woods. I got about 100 ft or so when I smelled something 10 times worse than a hunk, and I had the feeling that I was being watched...something said to get out of there. Being 13 at the time, boy did I. It was not a bear or a cow a dog or anything that lived on a farm, it was large human footprints. Was it Bigfoot? in my mind I think it was, at that time I had no idea who or what Bigfoot was.

Sighting Text:
MO CASS 1998 TR#81 * James Harrald, Sept. 15. Labor Day, 1998, near Pleasant Hill, MO, about 35 miles SE of Kansas City, sighting by sister of James Harrald. My sister’s sighting was late at night, and she did tell me there was a very bright full moon. She had awoken to feed her newborn and this has been going on for a while, her ritual is to go into the kitchen(they live in a trailer), heat up the formula and then go get the baby. She didn’t turn on any lights or anything like that and she said that she saw some movement out the window near their barn ( about 60 to 75 feet away). She said it was a dark figure like a man I didn’t ask her if she estimated the size or height but did ask her if it could have been her father-in-law that lives near them. She said that with the full moon being so bright that she would have seen a colored shirt or other clothing, she said it was just a dark figure. She had noticed every so often a smell which she described as a sewer smell. Its not all the time, just every few days or so. It should be noted that they keep cattle feed in the barn and that it is rarely used although it (barn) is not far from the trailer. My other sister and her husband will be looking for prints this weekend and will be taking a camera and some plaster just in case. This sister is very interested in all the events that have transpired around our town for the many years and she pretty much knows what to look for as far as sign. She knows to look for trees broken at the 7-8ft level , tracks, and her husband is a very experienced hunter and game guide so if they come across any droppings he should be able to identify them if they are a animal that is native i.e. deer or something of that nature. let me also tell you that my sighting was a daylight sighting that I filed with TBRP back in ‘91 or ‘92 if you wish to know of that one just let me know. It was in MO also but at the time I reported it to TBRP I was stationed in Mass. I am in the service and move a bit. Thanks again , I will tell my family what your opinion is of the migrating and tell them to keep on the look out which I am sure will make my sister who lives out there just crazy. She doesn’t like the fact that it may be around very much at all and she hasn’t told her husband because after all that I have seen and my brother-in-law too ( the other one) ... he thinks we are all nuts.

He kept a set of plaster footprint casts that he had made from its footprints. I'll send you copies of his interview with a local newspaper later. In the summer of 1966 at a park called Elephant Rocks in Graniterville, MO, my younger brother, sister, and I were exploringa quarry lake, when from the woods came a shrieking howl that chilled us to the bone. I became very bruised from falling over tree roots trying to make it back to the car.

Sighting Text:
TR 80 AUG 1998 * Joshua Armstrong (email: Ishido42@ hotmail.com) has had two sightings, the first on July 10th, 1994. I’ll include here to keep them together. The first caught his interest, and he started hunting for the creatures to study them, leading to his second sighting. He was in the forest behind Arnold City Park, Arnold, MO. This was along Fox Creek, about 100 yards behind the Sterling Estates Trailer Park. This is the area where the Mo-Mo Monster was reported in the 60’s and 70’s. On July 10th, about 4-5 PM Joshua was wandering through the woods, half lost, when he saw a Bigfoot only 20 feet away, and thought there were two more in the distance. It had crept up on him, but he smelled it. Then is screamed at him, and he screamed also, and started running. It chased him, but more like it was playing a game. If Joshua sped up or slowed down, it would match the pace, all the time screaming. Joshua finally broke out of the woods by a lake and jumped in, swimming across to get home. It had followed him to the waters edge, and screamed after him for a long time. If the creature wanted him permanently out of the area for some reason, it backfired.

Sighting Text:
+0382600 -0902200 Aug 10th, ‘98 Joshua ARMSTRONG was again in the forest near ARNOLD, JEFFERSON CO, MO. Near Fox Creek he found six dead fish on the ground that weighed in the 5-10 pound area. They were all catfish except one was a carp with a lot of scales on the ground around it. All had been eaten the same way, the stomach missing, the rest of the fish abandoned. Any normal animal would eat the whole thing, but we think Bigfoot might not like bones (though catfish are not bony, having a primitive cartilage structure). He felt creepy and left. From several miles behind in the park, there was lots of high pitched screaming. Joshua heard the pounding of rocks together, and approached the area. This was at least a mile past the Burlington Northern RR tracks that cross the Meremac River (It drains to the Mississippi about ten miles away). He watched a Bigfoot for about ten minutes clacking the rocks (he had heard the clacking for a total of 15 minutes), then the creature picked up a log and started hitting trees with it, and making a loud noise. The rock pounding, at first he thought it was making tools or weapons because the Bigfoot would break away a piece of stone then turn it and break it again. The log, with this he knew exactly where it was and didn’t look for it, then he started hitting this tree again. Then he smelled a something dead, and went slowly forward a couple of steps to see a dead deer, its guts hanging out, and crawling with bugs. Then Joshua touched the deer and the thing screamed, and they looked right at each other. He had banged the logs 2-3 minutes before he saw Joshua, though he recalls that the tree banging had stopped while he was walking, so maybe it was watching him. Joshua ran, and this time he can’t recall it chasing him. He recalls that it was the most frightening time he could ever remember, but still his curiosity held him there to watch the creature. The creatures in both sightings looked physically alike, and indeed, might have been the same creature... the creature was covered in long brown knotted hair except for the hands, chest, feet and most of the face, it had a flat nose. There were no shoulders or it was hunched, and it had arms down to its knees. It had large hands and smelled like a big wet dog. Both had dark eyes, sloped foreheads, but had no mean monster teeth or anything scary...just an animal. It looked more like a man crossed with an orangutan. It was at least 7’8” or 8 feet tall. On the second sighting the creature was 50 yards away and it was 12:40 PM. The droppings resemble human droppings and he’ll try to get a sample for us. Joshua also noted that the creature was on the ground when clacking rocks, and when it stood, it didn’t throw it’s arms forward for balance...it just stood straight up from sitting with his knees bent in front of him. Joshua, who is 20, six foot three, works in a Wal-Mart store in electronics. Other notable animals in the area are bobcats and coyote, but no bears. He has mentioned Bigfoot to others and they said there was an albino one in the same area, but he has never seen it. The area was in dense forest, and it was very hot. Further e-mail note from Joshua: For this week, having just started my Sasquatch study again, I have found more evidence that a Sasquatch or Sasquatch-like creature is feeding in my area. Fox Creek, August 14,1998, 9:37am. Checking the usual places along the creek I found 2 fish one of which was unrecognizable and the other one was on a tree limb above it about 7 feet up from the ground. Only one track was found, it was a half- track where only the heel and big toe were recognizable. It measured in at 22 and 1/4 inches. I could not find anymore tracks due to the large amount of other animal tracks in the same area. These tracks consisted of a bobcat, various birds and I believe a skunk. August 16,1998. Following a short rain I went to the area under study and found nothing. However there was some evidence of forcefully broken limbs that led off my normal trail heading NE. They were all broken on the same sides of each tree, each one visible from the next. The trail of broken limbs went off to the north east and then turned south to parallel my own trail from about 50 feet away. This trail ended at the same place that I have been finding the fish. My first conclusion is that whomever broke these branches intended them as trail markers (recall that last issue, #79, Steve Williams reported this activity).*
