mwengler@ldd.net ( mark wengler) It took place in Bollinger County, Mo, near a town called Patton. This happened in the summer of 1976. We were living on my Uncle's second farm that was right next to his. All a person had to do was walk across two fields to get from one house to another. I was coming from my Uncle's house to our house when I saw a set of large foot prints going into the woods. Being raised on a farm and knowing what animal's make which prints. Those prints looked like a set of very large human prints so I just followed them into the woods. I got about 100 ft or so when I smelled something 10 times worse than a hunk, and I had the feeling that I was being watched...something said to get out of there. Being 13 at the time, boy did I. It was not a bear or a cow a dog or anything that lived on a farm, it was large human footprints. Was it Bigfoot? in my mind I think it was, at that time I had no idea who or what Bigfoot was.

MO CASS 1998 TR#81 * James Harrald, Sept. 15. Labor Day, 1998, near Pleasant Hill, MO, about 35 miles SE of Kansas City, sighting by sister of James Harrald. My sister’s sighting was late at night, and she did tell me there was a very bright full moon. She had awoken to feed her newborn and this has been going on for a while, her ritual is to go into the kitchen(they live in a trailer), heat up the formula and then go get the baby. She didn’t turn on any lights or anything like that and she said that she saw some movement out the window near their barn ( about 60 to 75 feet away). She said it was a dark figure like a man I didn’t ask her if she estimated the size or height but did ask her if it could have been her father-in-law that lives near them. She said that with the full moon being so bright that she would have seen a colored shirt or other clothing, she said it was just a dark figure. She had noticed every so often a smell which she described as a sewer smell. Its not all the time, just every few days or so. It should be noted that they keep cattle feed in the barn and that it is rarely used although it (barn) is not far from the trailer. My other sister and her husband will be looking for prints this weekend and will be taking a camera and some plaster just in case. This sister is very interested in all the events that have transpired around our town for the many years and she pretty much knows what to look for as far as sign. She knows to look for trees broken at the 7-8ft level , tracks, and her husband is a very experienced hunter and game guide so if they come across any droppings he should be able to identify them if they are a animal that is native i.e. deer or something of that nature. let me also tell you that my sighting was a daylight sighting that I filed with TBRP back in ‘91 or ‘92 if you wish to know of that one just let me know. It was in MO also but at the time I reported it to TBRP I was stationed in Mass. I am in the service and move a bit. Thanks again , I will tell my family what your opinion is of the migrating and tell them to keep on the look out which I am sure will make my sister who lives out there just crazy. She doesn’t like the fact that it may be around very much at all and she hasn’t told her husband because after all that I have seen and my brother-in-law too ( the other one) ... he thinks we are all nuts.

He kept a set of plaster footprint casts that he had made from its footprints. I'll send you copies of his interview with a local newspaper later. In the summer of 1966 at a park called Elephant Rocks in Graniterville, MO, my younger brother, sister, and I were exploringa quarry lake, when from the woods came a shrieking howl that chilled us to the bone. I became very bruised from falling over tree roots trying to make it back to the car.

Sighting Text:
TR 80 AUG 1998 * Joshua Armstrong (email: Ishido42@ hotmail.com) has had two sightings, the first on July 10th, 1994. I’ll include here to keep them together. The first caught his interest, and he started hunting for the creatures to study them, leading to his second sighting. He was in the forest behind Arnold City Park, Arnold, MO. This was along Fox Creek, about 100 yards behind the Sterling Estates Trailer Park. This is the area where the Mo-Mo Monster was reported in the 60’s and 70’s. On July 10th, about 4-5 PM Joshua was wandering through the woods, half lost, when he saw a Bigfoot only 20 feet away, and thought there were two more in the distance. It had crept up on him, but he smelled it. Then is screamed at him, and he screamed also, and started running. It chased him, but more like it was playing a game. If Joshua sped up or slowed down, it would match the pace, all the time screaming. Joshua finally broke out of the woods by a lake and jumped in, swimming across to get home. It had followed him to the waters edge, and screamed after him for a long time. If the creature wanted him permanently out of the area for some reason, it backfired.

Sighting Text:
+0382600 -0902200 Aug 10th, ‘98 Joshua ARMSTRONG was again in the forest near ARNOLD, JEFFERSON CO, MO. Near Fox Creek he found six dead fish on the ground that weighed in the 5-10 pound area. They were all catfish except one was a carp with a lot of scales on the ground around it. All had been eaten the same way, the stomach missing, the rest of the fish abandoned. Any normal animal would eat the whole thing, but we think Bigfoot might not like bones (though catfish are not bony, having a primitive cartilage structure). He felt creepy and left. From several miles behind in the park, there was lots of high pitched screaming. Joshua heard the pounding of rocks together, and approached the area. This was at least a mile past the Burlington Northern RR tracks that cross the Meremac River (It drains to the Mississippi about ten miles away). He watched a Bigfoot for about ten minutes clacking the rocks (he had heard the clacking for a total of 15 minutes), then the creature picked up a log and started hitting trees with it, and making a loud noise. The rock pounding, at first he thought it was making tools or weapons because the Bigfoot would break away a piece of stone then turn it and break it again. The log, with this he knew exactly where it was and didn’t look for it, then he started hitting this tree again. Then he smelled a something dead, and went slowly forward a couple of steps to see a dead deer, its guts hanging out, and crawling with bugs. Then Joshua touched the deer and the thing screamed, and they looked right at each other. He had banged the logs 2-3 minutes before he saw Joshua, though he recalls that the tree banging had stopped while he was walking, so maybe it was watching him. Joshua ran, and this time he can’t recall it chasing him. He recalls that it was the most frightening time he could ever remember, but still his curiosity held him there to watch the creature. The creatures in both sightings looked physically alike, and indeed, might have been the same creature... the creature was covered in long brown knotted hair except for the hands, chest, feet and most of the face, it had a flat nose. There were no shoulders or it was hunched, and it had arms down to its knees. It had large hands and smelled like a big wet dog. Both had dark eyes, sloped foreheads, but had no mean monster teeth or anything scary...just an animal. It looked more like a man crossed with an orangutan. It was at least 7’8” or 8 feet tall. On the second sighting the creature was 50 yards away and it was 12:40 PM. The droppings resemble human droppings and he’ll try to get a sample for us. Joshua also noted that the creature was on the ground when clacking rocks, and when it stood, it didn’t throw it’s arms forward for balance...it just stood straight up from sitting with his knees bent in front of him. Joshua, who is 20, six foot three, works in a Wal-Mart store in electronics. Other notable animals in the area are bobcats and coyote, but no bears. He has mentioned Bigfoot to others and they said there was an albino one in the same area, but he has never seen it. The area was in dense forest, and it was very hot. Further e-mail note from Joshua: For this week, having just started my Sasquatch study again, I have found more evidence that a Sasquatch or Sasquatch-like creature is feeding in my area. Fox Creek, August 14,1998, 9:37am. Checking the usual places along the creek I found 2 fish one of which was unrecognizable and the other one was on a tree limb above it about 7 feet up from the ground. Only one track was found, it was a half- track where only the heel and big toe were recognizable. It measured in at 22 and 1/4 inches. I could not find anymore tracks due to the large amount of other animal tracks in the same area. These tracks consisted of a bobcat, various birds and I believe a skunk. August 16,1998. Following a short rain I went to the area under study and found nothing. However there was some evidence of forcefully broken limbs that led off my normal trail heading NE. They were all broken on the same sides of each tree, each one visible from the next. The trail of broken limbs went off to the north east and then turned south to parallel my own trail from about 50 feet away. This trail ended at the same place that I have been finding the fish. My first conclusion is that whomever broke these branches intended them as trail markers (recall that last issue, #79, Steve Williams reported this activity).*

TR 80 AUG 1998 * Joshua Armstrong (email: Ishido42@ hotmail.com) Aug 10th, ‘98 Joshua was again in the forest near home. MO MORGAN 1993 TR#83 * Lee Nash, Second encounter. Morgan County, MO, about 10-12 miles outside of Versailles. It was back in October of 1993, when a friend, Ben, and I, ventured out on a country road (Z).to an abandoned farm house, so we thought anyway. It was late that night, just after we got off work. We headed out for Z road, where we came to the old farm house. It was surrounded by several hay bales. It was dark and cool outside. We ventured upstairs, noting there were five rooms, the stairs were brittle. The first room we came to had numerous piles of poop, and a hideous rank smell. Each room was like that . We looked around for a few minutes, and suddenly I smelled this hideous odor again...with a blink of a eye I felt as if we were being watched. Ben and I stood still for a second. About that time I felt a hot smelling breath on the back of my neck. I then pushed Ben forward and we ran as fast as we could. This thing was screaming at us with a blood curdling tone of voice. As we made our way towards my 77 Olds, we stopped and saw whatever it was. It wasn't in pursuit of us anymore. It suddenly threw a, what it appeared to be, wooden desk out of the second floor window. Needless to say we boogied out of there. We returned about an hour later, with some friends, but found nothing

Bill and five of his buddies went on fishing trip for the weekend in the summer, August. It was at the Osage River in Missouri. They arrived on a Friday in the late afternoon, and they set up their camp site. Late that night as they slept, Bill was awakened by a strange smell, and he had also heard foot steps in the distance. He hesitated for a moment while his buddies slept. He had dozed back to sleep, but was then awakened again for the second time. This whatever it was , was screaming a blood curdling yell. The next morning as they all geared up for fishing, Bill sat silent. Later that afternoon as they fished down-river, their boat came to a sudden halt. They thought they had hit a log or something of that nature. Suddenly they begun too move freely. Off in the distance, approximately 50 feet from them, they noticed a blackish-brown head surfacing near shore. With disbelier, they all saw the creature stand up and walk from the surface to the shore. About 6-8 feet tall, staring at them, screaming and waving it's arms. Needless to say they packed up their camp and left in a hurry. I was about13-14 years old when Bill told me that story. Bill,GOD bless him. He died a few years ago.

Witness was walking along UU when he heard cattle running, and he noticed a dark figure in the moonlight walking casually behind them. There was an awful smell like a dead skunk, rotten meat, and feces together. There was a blood curdling scream. Stopping to look at the “farmer” 3-400 feet away, witness noted it wasn’t a farmer. Tall and dark in the moonlight and seemed to have a fur coat, and started walking toward the witness fast, and it stepped over the four foot barbed wire fence without breaking stride, and the witness ran. It followed witness to a nearby farmhouse where there were about ten dogs. The farmer with a shotgun came to the door and witness soundlessly pointed. The creature was twice as tall as himself (eleven feet) had golf ball size red glowing eyes, large hands and feet and was only five feet away, and the dogs were attacking it, and it was swatting them like flies. It had matted hair and was dark reddish brown with long arms and a smell that was nauseating. The farmer retreated, closing the door and shutting off the light and abandoning witness on the porch. The dogs distracted it, and witness ran all the way to intersection of UU and54, and his friend picked him up. Hannibal Marion MO 394230N 0912131W 502

Sighting Text:
TR 90 AUG 1999 *From:
sierra@n2.net (Bobbie Short) *** I use to live in St., Peters, Missouri I was close to 20 yrs old when we had a sighting of a creature in the late 1970's. The creature was seen in St. Peters, Missouri. This happened downtown St. Peters at a railroad bridge that crosses Dardenne Creek. The creek may be 20 to 30 miles long and drains into the Missouri River. Downtown St. Peters is a very small farming town. If you blink, your already through town. The creature could easily move around without ever being seen. The creek has large levees on both sides and was heavily wooded at the time. A friend and I used to sit by the creek or on the railroad bridge and talk. One night we were climbing on the bridge. My friend was the daring type, so I didn't think much about the shadows I saw. I thought it was just my friend fooling around. I yelled at my friend asking what he was doing? To my surprise, it was never him moving around. We just laughed it off and went on chatting. My friend had to urinate so he went to the end of the railroad bridge and started to go. Whatever was following us lifted the railroad timbers and tried to grab my friend. We ran approximately 1 mile back to his parent's home. I have left out a lot of details as I'm disabled now and it's hard to write. This animal was seen many times after our first sighting and was seen by our friends. This animal is violent, tried to kill my friend, smells like rotting hair, it lets out a scream like a panther. One major thing that is different about this creature and that is it has only 3 fingers, like a tree sloth. The reason I say this is because we found handprints in the banks of the creek and the mud prints under the bridge. We never found a footprint. We saw the imprints of the fingers and the nails in the soft mud of the creek banks. It appeared they would then grab the steel beams under the railroad bridge and it would leave the muddy hand prints on the beams. The odd part was we never found a footprint I say these were handprints only because they wouldn't support a creature of this size. All 3 fingers were approx 1 1/2 inch in diameter and approx 8" long with the middle finger slightly longer. Each nail was approximately 3 to 4 inch long and was curved like a eagle claw. I would assume both hands had 3 fingers because of its ability to climb under the bridge. The creature was approximately 8 to 9 feet tall, couldn't tell if it had a tail, only saw it from the front, appeared to be male, very long and matted hair on whole body, hair color was a very dark brown, could barely see its eyes through the hair, the shoulders looked to be close to 5 foot wide from shoulder to shoulder, very short neck, its arms were long as the hands hung past the knees, body shape looked like the classic Bigfoot pictures, except the arms were longer and the hands were different. I could not describe the feet as for the amount of hair. The creature had a very bad rotting hair type smell. It also let out a panther type scream one night as we must have startled it. The creature was or appeared aggressive to us as it pushed over a dying tree in the woods one night. Granted the tree was dead but it took a lot of strength to push over a tree that was about 3 foot in diameter. That was the same night it let out the scream. The other times we could tell it was getting near was you would smell this foul odor. It moved very quiet in the creek and the woods for an animal of this size. I couldn't begin to give you an approximate weight of the creature. The only thing I could think why it was aggressive is one night it appeared to be a female with 2 small ones with it. She stayed in the brush, I couldn't tell if it was bent over or what position to keep the 2 small ones guarded. She appeared to be maybe a 1/3 of the size of the male. She was 50 to 75 yards from us and the closest we got to the male was maybe 40 to 50 foot away. I have told many people of this sighting over the yrs, no one believes it. There was 5 people there one time that seen this creature and we seen it maybe 4 to 5 times in a short period of time. I guess it went to a different location on the creek. I assume it walked mainly in the water as not to leave a few tracks as possible. Let me know if you need more info. The only mistake I made was I never thought of bringing a camera along. That's life. People probably would just say the pictures were fake. You know how that goes. At least I know in my mind what I saw, heard and smelled. At the time, I was working for a company and I was talking with another friend about my past and we just happen to go down by the bridge. I was showing him around and to my surprise I spot these prints freshly made in the mud in the creek. Chills ran up my back, I don't know what to say to this person as they may think I made the tracks myself.
